Meet The Team
Dr. Sunny Patel
Dr. Patel is the owner of Canton Family Dentistry. He obtained his Bachelors of Science in Finance in 2018 from the Ohio State University, then went on to achieve his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Ohio State College of Dentistry. Upon graduation, he completed a one-year residency here in Canton, Ohio, at the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. As a mentor and teacher for new dentists, he continues to be part of the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital Dental Clinic. Dr. Patel is also a member of the Ohio Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Stark County Dental Society.
Some may already be familiar with the Patel family, as Dr. Sunny Patel was raised here in Canton, OH. Outside the office, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends; trying new foods; weight-lifting; playing sports, and cheering on the Buckeyes and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Dr. Patel brings an abundance of knowledge and passion for outstanding dental care! He strives to provide comprehensive, patient-centered oral health care and, above all - to treat his patients like family. He strongly believes in evidence-based dentistry and teaching patients the importance of oral healthcare.
Jessica Berg, RDH
Jessica is a 2010 graduate of the Dental Hygiene Program at Stark State College and a former student of Dr. Ragu! She is an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. Jessica began working with Dr. Ragu in 2000, and she has been an instrumental part of this practice as a dental hygienist for over 8 years. Overtime, she has developed many lifelong trusting relationships with our patients while achieving the highest level of oral health. Jessica has attended many continuing education classes and is always striving to gain more knowledge for the benefit of her patients.
Tera Myers, RDH
Tera is the most recent member of our team! Tera graduated from West Liberty University in 1999. With over 25 years of practicing dental hygiene, Tera brings an abundance of knowledge and passion to our team. Tera has been married for 23 years and is a mother to her daughter, Sophie. In her free time, Tera enjoys traveling, particularly to the beach and Disney World, and going boating on Atwood Lake with friends and family!
Elizabeth “Liz” Moore
Liz has over 30 years of experience in dentistry, and has been a part of the Canton Family Dentistry team as our office coordinator for over 10 years. She is compassionate and genuinely cares about our patients. She enjoys working in the dental field and believes in the benefits it offers to our patients. She and her husband Dave have two children. She also loves being a grandmother to her three grandsons.
Jessica “Jesse” Shipley
Jesse has been in the dental field since 1996 and been with Canton Family Dentistry as the lead dental assistant for 17 years! She uses her knowledge and experience with great efficiency during all phases of dental treatment. Jesse is energetic and enthusiastic about dentistry and always willing to go the extra mile for her patients. Outside of the office, Jesse values quality time with her partner, Chris, and is a mother to her daughter, Sabrina.
Josalynn “Josie” McKinney
Josie is a exceptional dental assistant and has been apart of the Canton Family Dentistry team since 2022. Josie is highly committed to helping patients maintain their dental health and achieving beautiful smiles. Patients appreciate her gentle and compassionate chairside manner. Josie hopes to further her career by one day pursuing an EFDA license. When she’s not in the office, Josie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Kyli Justice
Kyli is originally from Orrville Ohio. Kyli currently studies at Stark State College, and intends to pursue a career in Dental Hygiene. Kyli has achieved certifications in Radiology, OSHA, and CPR/AED. Kyli helps on both our clinical team and front desk team, as she enjoys working closely with patients to ensure they receive a consistently positive experience at each visit. Outside of the office, Kyli likes to read, play the drums, and spend quality time with her family and friends
